The Lounge Chair is one of the most famous designs by Charles and Ray Eames. Originating from a prototype submitted to the « Organic design in Home Furnishing » competition at the museum of modern Art in 1940, the Eames Lounge Chair Vitra is one of the most complex creations ever made by Charles and Ray Eames and their first project for the high-end market. Designed in 1956, it is a classic in the history of contemporary furniture, firmly logged in our collective imagination. The Lounge Chair released today by Vitra combines absolute comfort with the highest level of quality in both materials and manufacture. Charles and Ray Eames reinterpreted the traditional English club chair, with the aim of it « having the warm look and appeal of a worn first base baseball glove ». Equipped or not with its footrest (Ottoman), the Eames Lounge Chair Vitra has become timeless, and ensures optimum comfort for reading or listening to music, in your bedroom, the office or in a corner of your living room. Originally made in rosewood and black leather, the Eames Longue Chair Vitra is also available on SILVERA-eshop in bleached walnut and white leather.
