Designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua and Paola di Arianello for Artemide, Empatia is a collection of light fittings that marries traditional blown glass with LED technology. The designers’ great interest in the expressive potential of the material allowed them, in collaboration with the master glassmakers, to control the particular flexibility of Venetian glass and to work on the balance between surface and light, subtle densities and transparencies. The resulting light and luminous objects have the right balance of transparency and opacity to reflect light without glare. Available in a table or pendant version, Empatia is a light that perfectly combines technology and art.
