Jean Prouvé was inspired by traditional bar stools to create the Tabouret Haut, produced by Vitra. The four legs are slightly splayed and support a round seat. A ring, which connects the feet at about one third of their height, reinforces the structure and at the same time serves as a footrest. The designer’s interpretation of this classic archetype works perfectly in an American-style kitchen or near a bar because of its simple unpretentious look and harmonious proportions. The legs and seat are made of natural solid oak, stained or varnished for a natural wood effect. The Tabouret Haut’s cleverly designed tubular-steel footrest has a non-slip surface.
