The small armchair Pigreco is the first product designed by Tobia Scarpa, conceived in 1959 as a final project for his architecture studies at the University of Venice. With this project, he wanted to create an object that conveyed a « feeling of space ».
The conditions necessary for the technical realisation of Pigreco led Scarpa to design a seat technically composed of four legs, two of them very close together, to guarantee the chair’s solidity, while remaining faithful to the concept that originally inspired it: the triangle.
Pigreco still stands out today thanks to its characteristic legs, joined by a simple horizontal element that increases the solidity of the seat structure.
Tacchini presents the new edition of the Pigreco chair in new finishes and materials to adapt it to the context of today’s homes. The curved backrest and triangular leg arrangement create a chair that’s enveloping, graphic and perfectly balanced.
