During numerous trials that began during the Second World War, designers Charles and Ray Eames attempted to develop new techniques to adapt three-dimensionally shaped laminated wood to the human body. The Plywood Group seating collection is the result of this work: seats, backrests and bases are in moulded and laminated wood. Produced by Vitra, the LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) chair is available here upholstered in cowhide, as was presented in 1946 when it was launched on the market. This armchair is also available in moulded and laminated wood.
