Imagined and designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1970, Primate is an unusual piece, halfway between a conceptual object and a piece of furniture. The designer, known for constantly reinventing the way people sit, here presents a kneeling chair. You sit on the upper part while resting your knees on the lower part. Achille Castiglioni has created an iconic piece, produced by Zanotta, which overturns the conventions of the traditional armchair and our ideas of comfort. Primate is upholstered in flexible polyurethane and covered with an Eco coating. The two parts are connected by a stainless-steel rod and rest on a black polystyrene base. Primate is now part of the permanent collection of many museums.
