The Pavilion AV9 and AV7 bar and counter chairs feature a lightweight silhouette, with flowing curves for the plywood seat and back. Ideal for furnishing a large bar or kitchen counter, the Pavilion tall stool can easily fill a space without making it look saturated. « Tubular chairs first appeared in the early days of modernism, but they were generally built with fixed angles, » notes Anderssen & Voll. « We wanted to explore a more open construction, a freer form of expression. » The inspiration behind the Pavilion series is the Langelinie Pavilion building overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront promenade. It was rebuilt in the 1950s as a tribute to the modernist movement.
