Designed by Charles and Ray Eames, the Eames Plastic Chair is one of the most important and best-known furniture creations of the 20th century. In fact, its lively appearance makes it highly sought-after, making it a design classic. Introduced to the market in 1950, the Eames fibreglass DSR chair by Vitra, was the first plastic chair to go into mass production. Edited by Vitra, the Eames chair is now available with a new lounge height base: the Eames Plastic Chair LSR (Lounge Height Side Chair, Rod Base). This compact chair was a favourite of Charles and Ray Eames: they used the LSR throughout Eames House, their legendary home in Pacific Palisades. Perfect for the living room or garden, the LSR armchair is also available with the polypropylene shell.
