The Rivera chair, designed by Michele De Lucchi, is probably the closest object to the avant-garde appliance prototypes he created in 1979 for the Girmi company. It represents an attempt to emphasise a playful and not just functional relationship with everyday useful objects. Riviera is a chair that surprises us with its playful shape: its base is made up of two intersecting blue arches, while the seat is folded like a book.
