Verner Panton was known for his ability to play with elemental geometric shapes and draw inspiration from organic forms found in nature; and the suspension Hive is no exception. Made from several concentric diffusers of different sizes, the design of the Hive suspension offers a distinctive sculptural quality, while ensuring glare-free light. It emits a generous amount of direct light downwards, complemented by soft, diffused light from the sides. Like many of the luminaires created by Verner Panton, the unique expression of the Hive suspension stands out even when it’s switched off. Publisher Verpan is bringing this luminaire to life for the first time, thanks to the designer’s original drawings.
