Sciangai is a clever coat rack and a cult design object. Created in 1973 by designer trio Jonathan de Pas, Donato d’Urbino, and Paolo Lomazzi, it is produced by the renowned Zanotta company. Made of beech or oak, the coat hanger opens up to hold clothes and accessories, much like a game of pick up sticks. Bundled together, the pieces of wood create a stunning effect and once folded, Sciangai can be tucked away discreetly in a corner. Its lightweight structure makes it easy to move around your home, as required. Highly functional and sculptural, Sciangai is a design classic and is now featured in a number of museum collections. It has received the « Compasso Oro » award for its outstanding aesthetics, functionality and natural elegance.
