With its soft yet generous proportions, the Tung side table plays with a series of contrasts. British designer John Astbury wanted to create a small table with a feeling of monolithic strength. The result is Tung, acompact gueridon side table by And Tradition, supported by three curved legs that evoke the architectural presence of ancient columns. During the creative process, Astbury sought to translate large, heavy elements into a lighter, gentler expression. The legs of the cylinder-shaped guéridon Tung JA3 have become curved, and the shiny light-reflecting surface adds a touch of elegance. While its proportions lend it a sense of sculptural grandeur, the Tung And Tradition table has been scaled down to fit into the smallest of spaces.
