Description
For Lluís Porqueras, designing meant reducing each object to its essence by removing everything superfluous, leaving only what is beautiful, useful and simple. This approach led to the creation of the Funiculí lamp in 1979, reissued by Marset in 2013, and now a true icon of the collection. Lightweight and compact, the Funiculí can serve as an ambient lamp or for direct illumination, depending on the direction of the beam. The designer freed the shade to provide maximum mobility. Rotating a full 360 degrees, it allows the light to be focused precisely where required and features a double clamp system to adjust the height as needed. More than forty years after its creation, the Funiculí continues to transcend time while adapting to contemporary interiors, now available in an extended palette beyond the original neutral shades of moss grey, black and off-white. The new colours – mustard yellow, terracotta and green – are vibrant and expressive. They emphasise the elegant forms of the Funiculí and bring vitality and character to any space. These bright and cheerful shades demonstrate that colour can be a central aspect of design, adding a unique and dynamic atmosphere to every interior.
